Emerald Hills Institute offers a competitive internship program that gives students and graduates the opportunity to make important professional contributions to society. Interns are assigned short and long-term project that they work on during their internship period, in addition to daily responsibilities. Emerald Hills Institute Interns will not receive monetary compensation.



Emerald Hills Institute is seeking interns following areas. Each area has different responsibilities. Candidates may apply to one or multiple areas according to their majors or area of interests.


Public & Global Affairs responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Director of Events with daily operations, as well as monthly projects.

  • Assisting in the coordination of forums

  • Researching local and international forum topics

  • Writing bios for forum speakers

  • Interviewing forum speakers

  • Managing speaker databases

  • Providing content related to Public Global Affairs for social media accounts

  • Work with Interfaith Engagement and Communications interns to create project proposals


Interfaith Engagement responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and assisting in the organization of Interfaith programs and its database development

  • Management of event invitations and communicating with participants.

  • Planning & coordination of Interfaith Gatherings

  • Work with team members on new ideas

  • Create interfaith content for social media accounts


Human Resources responsibilities include:

  • Communicating with candidates via phone and email

  • Selection process management

  • Assisting with the on-boarding processes

  • Managing open internship postings on various career and university websites,

  • Creating and facilitating leadership development for office, employees, and other interns (HR Development Day)


Communications responsibilities include:

  • Researching and contributing to Emerald Hills Institute social media accounts (1 post per week)

  • Contacting EHI members and sources for interviews and research

  • Producing PR materials

  • Brainstorming and developing new programs and initiatives at EHI

  • Generating content for social media


Multimedia responsibilities include:

  • Updating social media content

  • Updating website content

  • Filming events and editing video content.

  • Skills Required to complete job consist of the ability to multitask, navigate throughout multiple social media sites, basic recording and editing skills including Photoshop and iMovie

Time commitment
Minimum 10 hours per week, Mon – Fri (flexible)


  • Undergraduate / graduate students and recent graduates.

  • Familiarity with social media (Twitter, Facebook) and basic MS Office tools (Word, Excel)

  • and reliable

  • Excellent writing, skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-oriented environment

Desired Skills/Preferences
Degree in Journalism, Communications, International Studies, Political Science, Social Studies or other related fields.
